If you are a business professional providing services or advise to your clients, most likely you should have a professional liability insurance policy. This form of insurance coverage can protect you against claims of errors, omissions, or even failed serviced delivery.
Personal liability insurance will protect you against claims for damages or injuries to others on your personal property. While professional liability insurance will protect you against claims for professional negligence which can arise out of providing professional services or advise.
Business professionals are encouraged to secure professional liability insurance coverage if they provide a service or give advise to their clients. This is not limited to: accountants, doctors, lawyers, counselors, consultants, engineers, information technology professionals.
While professional liability insurance will cover professional negligence it will not cover: employee injuries or discrimination lawsuits, bodily injury, business vehicle use, business or customer property damage. Nor will it cover criminal prosecution.
